An experienced teacher of over 20 years, Clare combines teaching singing with performance coaching. Her aim is to help the client identify their personal singing goals and facilitate them through focussed, accurate, clear instruction, whether that is technically, expressively, musically, healthily or for pure enjoyment. Every singer is unique, as are their vocal challenges and solutions. This is why Clare is continually attending ongoing CPD to offer as much as possible to her students. She enjoys a diverse teaching practice from her private studio in South Cambridgeshire UK, but has also taught at further education colleges, at performing arts schools and is the Founder and Musical Director of Lift Off Choir. A graduate of the London Studio Centre with a diploma in Musical Theatre, she embarked on a performing career that took her all over the world. Frequently crossing genres between Pop and Musical Theatre. Touring and juggling demanding workloads. This means she is well equipped to understand and advise on maintaining vocal health for gigging artists. To this end she is also a qualified Vocal Health First Aider and a Mental Health First Aider. As her teaching has evolved, she has developed a passion for performance coaching. Too often clients were asking for help to find that special something that brought excitement to their audience, and made their performances stand out from the crowd. Clare believes communication with your audience is essential for any successful artist, and incorporates teaching this with skills in stage craft, movement, and song interpretation. She is also in demand as a coach for audition preparation for the leading UK Musical Theatre Colleges. Pupils have gained entry to Mountview, Italia Conti, London Studio Centre, Performers, LIPA, Bird College, Urdang, Laine, Masters and many more. Clare is an authorized Vocology In Practice Instructor. (VIP is a peer directed global network of elite voice professionals.) Additional professional memberships include Association of Teachers of Singing and British Actors Equity.

“I have had the pleasure of having Clare as both my choir leader and also for 1:1 singing lessons. It’s always a joy working with Clare, she is so down to earth, approachable and extremely knowledgeable. She has a relaxing nature, everyone feels at ease singing with her, whether it be in a group session face to face or online. Clare uses a wide variety of techniques, she explains the reasons/science behind the exercises and makes it fun! I have gained confidence with singing, and my passion is maintained, as Clare is excellent at encouraging as well as suggesting ways to improve. 100% recommended!

“Our daughter, has been working with Clare for nearly 2 years now and the improvement over this time has been wonderful. I love to hear the transformation from beginning to the end of a lesson. Clare’s teaching manner and patience is plain to see (and hear). She was recommended to us, and we would like to forward on that recommendation too.”

“Under Clare’s teaching I feel that I have improved like never before. I learnt to sing in a more healthy way whilst learning different styles. All I can say is a massive thank you for helping me improve on aspects I am comfortable with and teaching me new skills”.
